A Study on Effects of the Gatekeeper Training of Early Psychosis in Seoul

Abstract
|

|
Objective : The purpose of this study is to verify the effects of the Gatekeeper training program, which is developed by the Seoul Metropolitan Government, on people¡¯s perception level about psychiatric symptoms. It is the key environmental factor to early detect, transfer, and treat any suspected subjects of early psychosis.
Methods : In order to verify the any perception changes about psychiatric symptoms after the Gatekeeper training program, which was developed by the Seoul Mental Health Center in 2015 to early detect psychosis, the same questionnaires were provided to 405 participants, who completed the 3-hour Gatekeeper training program for early psychosis detection, before and after the program. A paired sample T test was conducted through SPSS 22.0 in order to verify the perceptional changes before and after the training program.
Results : The paired sample T test showed statistically significant differences in terms of the perception level about psychiatric symptoms before and after the Gatekeeper training program, which is to early detect psychosis.
Conclusion : It was proved that there are statistically significant differences in terms of people¡¯s perception levels about psychiatric symptoms after the Gatekeeper training program, which was developed by the Seoul Metropolitan Government to early detect psychosis. The changes of perception is one of the key factors to early detect, transfer, and treat any suspected subject of psychosis.
